Jim Hannon won the race for ALA East Director Thank you for your support!
I am thrilled that you have decided to run for the ALA Board. The ALA needs honest, dedicated, transparent, member-friendly ALA Directors.
David Dahl, ALA Director (as an individual)
I have had the privilege of serving alongside Jim on two boards over the past decade, and am the Executive Director of another nonprofit for which Jim served on the board for 9 years.
Running a leadership nonprofit and identifying leaders is what I do. Jim Hannon is an exceptional leader in every way. His strategic vision, outstanding communication, mentorship and his constant willingness to serve organizations he is passionate about are a few of his exceptional qualifications.
He served my organization as Treasurer and Board Chair, and in those capacities I found him to be a great resource and sounding board. He did not micromanage my work, but rather gave me the latitude and support I needed to be most effective.
The Lake Arrowhead community has been an integral part of Jim and his amazing family for four generations and would benefit from Jim's wisdom and leadership.
Heidi Johnson, lovin' Lake Arrowhead since 1984
Jim Hannon and I served together on a committee and the board of a southern California educational institution. Once Jim was elected Board Chair, he continued to attend most of our committee meetings in his capacity as an ex officio member. This investment of time kept him closely in touch with the committee's issues, and as he led the board meetings it showed that he had a detailed grasp of important matters the school was facing. He had a positive working relationship with the board members, even if they did not agree all the time, and he had a very productive relationship with the school's President who reports to the Board. These leadership traits would serve Jim well, and will benefit ALA members, if Jim is elected a Director of the ALA.

I know Jim as a fellow active member of the Los Angeles philanthropic community, and he was a member of the Audit Committee that I chaired for a Los Angeles secondary school (not the same one as my wife). With a budget and assets many times greater than those of the ALA, Jim's thorough preparation and insightful questioning helped the Committee, and subsequently the Board and institution, achieve strong financial performance. He certainly would be an asset to ALA as a director.

You would be an asset to the board and ALA.
